MEDFORD, OR, MARCH 5, 2010—Geoffrey Stathos, commercial insurance consultant for United Risk Solutions, Inc., has been named the firm’s Team Player of the Year for 2009.

The award, new to United Risk, was presented to the producer with the highest volume of referrals into various departments of the organization. Stathos is responsible for generating close to $1,000,000 in additional premium volume through team assists for the firm. At a recent event, Stathos was presented with an award from agency Executive Director, Jackie Anderberg.

Stathos has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years, benefiting several agencies with his knowledge and experience. In 1989, Stathos received the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and joined with his father to create Mission Insurance Agency in Medford.

Stathos was administrator and majority stockholder of Mission Insurance for 15 years before it was acquired by United Risk in 2008. Since the merge, Stathos has excelled as a high producing member of United Risk’s sales force, specializing in insurance for commercial businesses.

In 2009 Stathos was recognized by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors for 20 years of maintaining the CIC designation and his dedication to the insurance profession.

Stathos was raised in the Rogue Valley where he currently lives with his wife Elizabeth.
